I just completed the first week of Dr. Fuhrman's Eat To Live 6 week plan and I lost SIX pounds!

I started on Dr. Fuhrman's "Eat To Live" back in 2006, when I weighed 102 kilograms (225 pounds). I'm a woman in my late 30s, and am 180 cms tall (5' 11").

Over the course of the following year, I dropped down to reach a healthy adult weight for the first time since high school, and managed to maintain my weight loss through a pregnancy and breast-feeding.

Although I have regained a little weight since I stopped feeding my daughter (born Feb 2007), I have managed to maintain a steady weight between 77-79 kilograms (170 - 174 pounds), within the BMI healthy guidelines for my height.

In short, I have currently maintained a long-term (3 year) weight loss of 24 kilograms (53 pounds). I don't know of anyone else personally who has done this - through a pregnancy and breastfeeding!

The reason I'm sharing this is that now I'm finished adding to my family, and am sick of sitting at the top of the BMI, so I've just started Dr Fuhrman's Six Week Challenge. I'm ready to give myself some attention and care again.

I never reached my perfect, ideal weight - pregnancy and child-rearing, and a stack of lazy, bad habits stopped me.

But now I feel ready to make changes for the better, and we've tossed the junk food from the house and are are all eating well - even according to Dr Fuhrman's high standards!

I'd like to thank Dr Fuhrman. I don't know if he'll read this, but he has made huge changes in my life, and will continue to do so. His advice is the only truly sensible advice that I've ever found that has worked for me.

And my kids (age 4 and 2) are the only ones I know who, when I take them to the supermarket, are bullying me to buy more cherry tomatoes, mandarins and broccoli!

They love their fruit and veggies, and eat better than any kids I know - all because I made the decision to pick up and read a little book called "Eat To Live" a few years ago.

I've lost 33 pounds in 10 weeks following the Eat to Live plan. I feel better, I sleep better, I enjoy working out and my grocery and eating out bills have dwindled quite a bit. Thank you Dr. Fuhrman!
