More Obese Americans than Overweight Americans

Well, its official, we’re doomed! According to the National Center for Health Statistics, the number of obese Americans now outweighs the total number of overweight people, 34% of Americans are obese, compared to 32.7% of people who are overweight. In 2005-2006, researchers say one-third of Americans were obese, a startling 72 million people, and the prevalence of obesity has more than doubled since 1980, however the trend of overweight has remained stable during that time; via Reuters.

We shouldn’t be proud of this milestone, especially since obesity has been linked to poor health and migraines, cancer, thyroid inflammation and other diseases. So, based on this research, we’ve got a wave, scratch that, a tsunami of sick people on the horizon.

But, oddly enough, a recent study actually claims obesity protects against heart disease. It’s cuckoo!

As Americans become more and more over obese, there will be a point in time, where heart attacks and strokes will be so common that there won't be enough medical staff to pick up the dead bodies fast enough.
Yesterday I spent the day in a hospital in the ICU. I was visiting a friend who who had a heart attack and stroke.
I had told this person many times if he didn't change his diet, it was not a case of if, it was just a case of when the heart attack would it happen. His blood pressure was extremely high and he had shortness of breath.
He thought he would just have a heart attack and die and it would be quick and easy!
Well he wasn't that lucky. Strokes are horrible and can be very debilitating before the final death.
By the way he is 65, 25lbs over weight, a vegetarian and has struggled for many years trying to giving up cheese and diary, and so called healthy desserts and so called healthy fats.

Yes, it's a struggle giving up protein and fat. I too have struggled my whole life trying to give up oxygen, but I just don't have the willpower. I'm trying to only breathe carbon dioxide to help the environment.

The problem is the word, "healthy," is on just about every processed food item. Healthy Choice, for instance, is junk.

Losing weight is not about counting calories. It's about lifestyle changes, ie. substituting hummus for mayonnaise, substituting soy milk for "bovine" milk, etc.

Soy milk is a great weight loss tool. My stomach hurts so bad after drinking it that I simply can't eat! Finally, I found the secret!

Where does anyone say to give up fat or protein? If soy milk doesn't agree with you, don't drink it.
