For the third in a row year Mississippi is the fattest state in the country; 31.6% of Mississippi’s population is obese, with West Virginia (30.6%), Alabama (30.1%), and Louisiana (29.5%) following close behind. CalorieLab whipped up this PHAT chart:


Happy to be the thinnest, Governor Bill Ritter of Colorado told CalorieLab, “We’re doing all we can to encourage Coloradans—especially our kids—to take advantage of the natural resources our state offers in order to stay fit, healthy and happy.”
