Happy New Year!

I hope all of you Disease Proof readers have a happy and healthy New Year.  Hopefully with the opportunities good health will bring, this could be the best year of your life.

Congratulations to everyone out there following our Six Week Holiday Challenge.  I am very excited from the wonderful stories and successes sent our way.

Please continue to send us your health success stories and comments on Facebook.com/drfuhrman.  We want to hear from you.  We want to hear about how this holiday season was different for you, how our challenge changed your health, your viewpoint, or your family or holiday traditions.  We will be publishing many of the comments here in a future post for others to read.  Let us know if you do not want your real name used if we post your stories.

And, keep working toward the contest, because the winning success story will get an all-expense paid trip for two to our 5th Annual Getaway in Park City June 26 – July 2, 2011.  This will be the most fun Getaway ever!

Remember working towards and earning excellent health brings the opportunity to achieve more success and happiness in your life. Wishing you freedom from addictions and other disease-causing influences, and relishing in the healthiest years of your life.

Thank you Dr. Fuhrman and everyone who works on your team. Without your advice I would not have had a chance against my raging refined sugar addiction. After following the ETL principles for almost 18 months, refined sugar just does not have a hold on me. Almost any processed food and anything animal derived just doesn't seem worth eating either. I know there are a lot of people who are just starting out on this journey and I just want to tell them that these ideas work, they take time, and it's so worth it!

I went from needing 10 hours of sleep per night to needing 6-7 and my cholesterol went from 231 to 147. Oh, and the best part of all is that I will wear a bathing suit in public again!

Have a wonderful 2011!

It was a good and healthy holiday for my family. Although I could not get everyone to agree to go meatless for the holidays, I was able to show how delicious vegan dishes can be by making all the sides for our get togethers. I made steamed kale with a cashew sauce that people raved about and a few dips using almond milk blended with different raw nuts and spices that were well recieved. I was able to convince everyone to start with a big salad before piling the plates full of the usual mounds of turkey and ham which made me feel very happy and successful.

It is my goal to get my loved ones more comfortable with the ETL principles for 2011 and beyond. I am hopeful that I have made some impact on my family. Happy and healthy 2011 to us all!!!

after reading "eat to live" i went vegan, read "the china study," bought cookbooks by dr. Ornish and McDougall and convinced my daughter to take the cornell university's course on t. colin campbell's nutrition discoveries and become a nutrition counselor.

this diet plan is the wave of the future. climb on and ride it to a longer, healthier and less expensive life!

Although I fell off the wagon somewhat at all three holidays, I was able to get back on much more quickly than in the past. I credit that to your daily recipes and tips.
Thank you so much.
