Trans Fat a Market Issue?
The other day the Associated Press reported New York City is looking to impose a strict ban on trans fat used in restaurants. Seems like a good idea right? Well according to this video report by CNN’s Dr. Sanjay Gupta not everyone is hip to it. One health expert contends we should let the market decide whether or not we want trans fat in our foods.
Of course it's a market issue; saying it's a 'market issue' really just means we let people decide for themselves what they will put in their mouths. If you don't believe people deserve that level of freedom, then of course you'll sign up for the idea that the government should be able to tell us what to eat. But at least be honest enough to admit that you're hip to revoking personal liberty.
