I've been vegan for ~20 years, with border line high blood pressure that whole time.

It wasn't till a month ago after reading this that I lowered my daily salt intake to ~500mg/day. Within a week it dropped from 135/85 to ~115 and as low as 105/65.

The nice thing about eating low salt is that I could see the results within a week. Even though I'm 6' @ 163 pounds, I lost 5 pounds of weight the first week to 158.

More news of how our toxic food environment is telling on us. Most of the food we face is totally unnatural! I am inspired by Dr. Joel Fuhrman to keep a constant vigil myself and read the labels. Knowledge is power and I thank Dr. Fuhrman for all the time he must spend reading and remembering and then sharing to bring us the nutritional wisdom we need. Salt is a hard one along with sugar and the wrong fats. Fight we must, our bodies will thank us with a long life and quality years....

Thank you! Why are some people saying that we can eat a lot of salt? To get attention? I stopped adding salt to food around 1977, after I read a book: "Hypertension: the Silent Killer"? (maybe the correct title), by Lawrence Galton? (maybe the author's name),

Can you please clarify if this is true of processed table salt only or sea salt, himalayan, as well? How about seaweed granules? Thanks.

Watch my salt intake always because of high blood pressure. If I eat too much, my ankles bloat up, face too and I feel wretched!
