Exercise Hard, Drink Coke?
Coca-Cola, a great way to rehydrate—seriously! Scott from HealthandMen recently learned this first hand. Take a look:
What a load—a load of sugar and empty calories that is! Just check out cola's nutrient score from Dr. Fuhrman’s Food Scoring Guide:

The Center for Science in the Public Interest has been screaming about the ills of soda for years. From their site:
I bought a 12 pack of Coca-Cola today for my parents who are coming in to town this weekend and I noticed something it said on the bottom. It says:No, this can’t be true. There’s no way the spin masters at Coke would make such a silly claim. I mean, come on:
“All beverages hydrate to include soft drinks. So if you are looking for hydration, but want the delicious and refreshing taste you get from Coca-Cola, don’t compromise - go for it! You’ll be hydrating your body with each and every sip.”
Maybe if all the water in the world is gone and Coca-Cola is the only thing left to hydrate yourself with it would be a good statement. You can not substitute water for ideal hydration.

The Center for Science in the Public Interest has been screaming about the ills of soda for years. From their site:
The empty calories of soft drinks are likely contributing to health problems, particularly overweight and obesity. Those conditions have become far more prevalent during the period in which soft drink consumption has soared. Several scientific studies have provided experimental evidence that soft drinks are directly related to weight gain. That weight gain, in turn, is a prime risk factor for type 2 diabetes, which, for the first time, is becoming a problem for teens as well as adults. As people get older, excess weight also contributes to heart attacks, strokes, and cancer. So yeah, I’m not down with the soda for hydration rap. I’ll stick with water—out of a BPA-free bottle of course. Like these from Amazon. Hey, which one should I buy? Let me know.

That's pretty low; but it's Coke, so it makes sense.
I prefer glass to any kind of plastic. I have no problem with it being heavier or breakable.
If I couldn't use glass, I'd choose stainless steel.
Hey Gerald,
My friend just purchased the stainless bottle. He went on a long hike and had to listen to the swish swosh of his water during his "peacful" walk. Said it got aggravating. That was his only grip.
Hey Llouise and Jennifer-
Thanks! I can just see myself now. Sitting on my couch, watching the ball game, eating a bag of baby spinach like potato chips and sipping on an ice-cold stainless steel bottle of water--I'm a manly man!
Peace.

Lol! Hey, throw on a serape, channel Clint, and you'll be all set. ;)
Jennifer, it doesn't swish as loudly in a plastic bottle? Hadn't thought of that one!
Eek. Coke for hydration. In addition to everything you said doesn't Coke have caffeine in it- a diuretic. That's even worse than people , sometimes the teacher, bringing coffee into a spin class as their drink
I love the part about how you bought this for your parents. It's nice of you to take their tastes into consideration. I can relate because my mother in law (normally the sweetest woman on the planet) becomes another person when she is denied her Pepsi.
Hey Rae-
The story about the Coke is actually from Scott from HealthandMen, its not mine.
But yeah, its a great story.
Peace.

thanks for the link, Gerry. When i read this on the bottom of the 12 pack it just blew my mind. It's amazing what companies will do to try the get an edge.
