Research: Healthy Breakfast, Healthier Diet

A new study in American Journal of Clinical Nutrition suggests eating a healthy, low-calorie breakfast, like fruits, vegetables and whole grains, leads to a better overall diet than gorging on a high-calorie, unhealthy breakfast, like steak and eggs or doughnuts and pastries. Participants eating a healthy breakfast weighed less than people eating a calorie-heavy breakfast or no breakfast at all; Reuters reports.

Now, for a great breakfast try some Blueberry Nut Oatmeal, Healthy Pancakes or my chocolate pudding. I eat it everyday!

I just linked to your Chocolate Pudding recipe. Chocolate pudding is one of my all time favorites--but honestly, does your concoction taste anything closely related to the real thing?

I start my mornings off with a green smoothie--heavier on veggies than fruits, but I just don't know about the cocoa, spinach, and nutritional yeast in your mixture---I'm OK with the nuts, bananas, seeds & avocado.

So be honest--is it really good?

Actually the breakfast in the illustration looks good. Kind of a no-brainer that a healthy breakfast is better for you than an unhealthy breakfast. However, Dr. Fuhrman is not in the it's essential to eat breakfast camp. He says it's fine not to eat breakfast if you are not hungry. I think the people who did not eat breakfast and weighed more just ate more junk the rest of the day.
