Iron Man, Man of Veggies...

Get a load of this. Dr. Fuhrman spotted Tony Stark, a.k.a. Iron Man, a.k.a. Robert Downey Jr., chugging a green smoothie in his new movie Iron Man. Take a look:

Protected by metal, powered by veggies—awesome! So, how do you make a green smoothie? There are lots of ways:
Eat Your Greens Fruit Smoothie
5 ounces organic baby spinach
1 medium banana
1 cup frozen or fresh blueberries
1/2 cup soy milk
1/2 cup pomegranate juice or other unsweetened fruit juice
1 tablespoon ground flax seeds
Blend all ingredients in a high powered blender until smooth and creamy.

Green Citrus Smoothie
1 orange, peeled
1 cup fresh pineapple
8-10 ounces romaine or leaf lettuce
1 tablespoon Dr. Fuhrman's Blood Orange Vinegar
Blend all ingredients together.

Lisa's Favorite Green Smoothie
1 apple, cut into fourths
1 banana
1/2 avocado
4 pitted dates
5 ounces organic baby spinach
Blend all ingredients in a high powered blender until smooth and creamy.
Personally, I’m more interested in what she’s eating:

Pepper Potts, sounds vegetable-based to me!

So this is Dr. F.'s kinda movie, aye? :D

This has been getting good reviews, surprisingly! Most modern super-hero movies don't amount to much.
I will wait for the dvd, but I do hope he is fallible.
Batman, or better, Indiana Jones is more my style -- I don't like the "perfect" heroes ;)

Hey Llouise-

No Iron Man for you? Batman is my favorite, but Iron Man rocks too!

And it was very funny, Dr. Fuhrman emailed me this weekend about the green shake in Iron Man, he was all excited about it and when I was able to get those pictures, well, he's still grinning.

Peace.

When I took my friend's son to see Iron Man a few weeks ago I was thrilled to see him downing a green smoothie. When I spoke to Dr. Fuhrman a few days later I told him about it. I go into the local schools here and make what we call "Brave Shakes". Green smoothies aka blended salads. I ask for the bravest kid in the class to sample it first. The boys practically fall over each other to be the one chosen. They always love the smoothies and go home and make them with their families. It will be even easier to get them to try them now when I show them that Iron Man drinks a green smoothie before going out to save the world.

Tony Stark is definitely fallible. He's an orphaned, alcoholic womanizer. The sequels are supposed to focus more on his struggles with alcohol. I didn't expect to like the movie at all - but I really enjoyed it!
