How Not to Throw Out Your Fruits and Veggies...
Post a comment (3 Comments) | PermalinkNow, so your hard-earned fruits and veggies don't end up like this, Diet Blog offers up some great shopping tips. Take a look:
- Don't buy huge bags of fruit and vegetables
- Store your fruit and vegetables in the fridge
- Don't keep bananas in your fruit bowl
- Buy your fruit and vegetables locally
- Use up vegetables in your cooking
- Plan ahead - what fruit and veg do you really need for the week?
I wonder, why do I have that? To be continued…
Surely, no. 1 isn't meant for ETLers :) At least not this one!
Again with the teasing, aye? ;)
Hey Llouise-
You're evil. ;)
Peace.

Where do they want you to store bananas? In the fridge??
Eating local is cool when available. Our earliest Farmer's Market of the year opened this weekend. I went on Saturday morning, armed with $1s, $5s, and grocery bags. What a day! Mid 70's in Seattle after weeks of clouds, rain and snow. Driving out I could see the Cascade Mountains across the lake. Driving back I got a full frontal view of the Olympics, which are still covered in snow.
1. Salad mix picked the day before
2. Collards
3. Broccoli Raab
4. Mixed braising greens
5. Chard
6. Two locally grown yukon gold potatoes
It's all gone now except for the potatoes.
Good thing the Local Costco had Big Bags of Fruits and Vegetables so I could break rule #1, or I'd be eating rice and beans the rest of the week! : )
