Get Those Omega-3s!
Diet Blog passes along some tips to help you get your Omega-3 fatty acids. Here are a few good ones:
- Grind up flaxseeds and sprinkle them on salads or add them to oatmeal, protein shakes or morning cereals. Alternately, supplement with flaxseed oil; 1 tbsp is equivalent to 3 tbsp flaxseeds (use as a supplement; Not for cooking)
- Snack on walnuts, which contain modest amounts of omega 3 fats (other types of nuts and seeds can also contain significant amounts of omega 3 fats)
- Increase your consumption of leafy greens which contain small amounts of omega 3 fats.








I use sprinkle milled flax seed on my cereal and soya milk. I definitely like the nutty gritty taste of the ground kernels. So far, it has been a big help to regulating blood pressure.
Just a pinch between my cheek and gum and I am fine all day !

Also, about that list, DocF. advises against flax oil. Seed me! Hemp also has a very impressive EFA amount, and my beloved CHIA SEEDS are not on that list! :O Very high in Omegas, a tad more than flax, even. ;^)
Lol....kind of date myself here, but for some reason this post made me think of an old timey Skoal tobacco commercial, featuring Earl Campbell, running back for the Houston Oilers at the time.
I couldnt imagine rubbing on my skin, thats just bizarre....
Use a lot of the hemp seed too, thats a staple in our house. The seed that is ;^)
