Food Face-Off

What does 200 calories of food look like? Actually, that’s kind of a trick question because it depends on the food. According to Dr. Fuhrman small amounts of some foods like meat and diary are more calorie-dense than larger amounts of fruits and vegetables. Check out the chart in Foods That Make You Thin for more

Of course, if you prefer pictures, take a look at what’s going on over at WiseGeek. You’ll see that the portion size of 200 calories worth of celery, baby carrots, or broccoli, dwarf what you get from 200 calories of canola oil, uncooked pasta, or cheddar cheese. Gee, I wonder, which foods help you lose weight? Now that’s not a trick question!

From my experience, it is not calories that make you fat. Carbohydrates do not necessary make you fat either but it depends on what types you are eating and mixing together. Fat only makes you fat when you eat any type of carbohydrate.

Here's something I tried, but I do not recommend doing it because you may become vitamin famished: Fruitarianism

Although I didn't develop anything bad while on this diet, I still don't recommend just to be safe. On the contrary, I actually had no odour in my faeces and it was easy to pass. I also had no problem with intestinal bloating, and I slept very well.

Fruits have a lot of carbohydrates in the form of fructose. Despite the bad reputation that fructose has received, I never gained a pound while on this diet. I didn't lose any but that was because I was at a healthy weight at 117 lbs. I swear that I ate more than 2600 kcal while on this diet.

According to Atkins, I would have gotten fat from all this fruit sugar. Looks like I proved him wrong.

After getting off that diet and resuming a normal one, I tried to see what happened if I increased my intake of carbohydrates in the form of desserts. Ice cream, cake, pies, pastries, biscuits. I gained 10 lbs. in a month! And I ate much less calories than I did on the fruit diet.

Just eat healthy foods like boiled green vegetable(lots of them). Only half a cup of grains per day. Only five grammes of animal products per day(no meat). And about the same amount of fruit as vegetables. Yes, FRUIT - SWEET JUICY FRUIT in its whole natural raw form.

Don't listen to those people like Dr. Mercola, Dr Mcdougal, Mark Sisson, Atkins, or Timothy Ferriss who portray fruit as dangerous. It's not. It doesn't raise cholesterol, doesn't raise triglycerides, and doesn't make you fat if you eat very little animal products, and grains.
