Depressed Diabetics Struggle to Control Symptoms

A study of depressed type-2 diabetics revealed they had a higher than average hemoglobin A1C level, an indicator of long-term blood sugar control. Published in General Hospital Psychiatry researchers suggest the pangs of depression may impede them from making necessary lifestyle changes to control their diabetes; via Reuters.

Lately on the Discovery Health Network, a program apparently aired about how sugar is not harmful to kids, or adults. My Friend told be about it. Dr. OZ was involved in the study that was done.
I did not personally watch the program, and I am tring to find out more information on it. I think this couldn't possibly be true. What are your thoughts on this, and do you know of the study or progam.
