Yucky Germs

Now, Dr. Fuhrman points out, that if you’re eating a healthy high-nutrient diet. You’re body and immune system is super-charged against bacteria and viruses—even the flu!

But I still thought this was interesting. ABC News shows us 10 Germy Surfaces You Touch Every Day. It’s very icky. Here’s the list:

Many surfaces and objects you come in contact with every day are covered in germs -- but then again, so are you.

"Ninety percent of you is composed of germ cells," said Philip Tierno, director of clinical microbiology and immunology at NYU and author of "The Secret Life of Germs."

He explained that while we are constantly in contact with germs, only a small minority will cause any harm.

  • Purses and Wallets
  • Remote Control
  • Laundry Machines
  • Cutting Board
  • Your Phone
  • Water Fountains
  • Buttons
  • Yoga Mats
  • Airplane Bathroom
  • Shopping Carts

Oh man, I just threw up in my mouth a little. Well, good thing I use my own Yoga mat, so at least they’re MY germs. Still gross though.

I'd also add that our immune systems NEED the workout of fighting off viruses and bacteria; otherwise, they turn on us with autoimmune diseases. Or so I understand.
