On Manager's Special 9.29.08

Those tomatoes and white asparagus cost $2.57.

It was $1.89 for the apples.

And only $1.46 for the onions and red potatoes.

I bought ALL that stuff on manager’s special for the low-low price of $5.92! I’ve noticed a lot of supermarkets sell blemished or over-ripe produce at a reduced price. It’s a GREAT way to score tasty fruits and vegetables on the cheap.

Don’t be self-conscious. Dig in and see what YOU can find!

We often see a cart of over ripe bananas going for a good price, you can buy a grocery bag full for $4.00.
I buy them and cut them up and freeze for smoothies and the delicious banana ice cream from Dr Fuhrman's recipe section.

Yeah "cheapo" rack. I don't buy any tomatoes now. I still have tons from the CSA.
