Great looking corn, just $1.00.
My mom bought these, Fuji apples and Anjou pears $2.17.
Super ripe bananas $0.64.
Grand total, only $3.81. Freaking awesome!
This week, was really good. All the stuff was in amazing condition, especially the apples. Fuji apples are my favorite. I think they taste like caramel.

I wonder where that corn is from. Obviously it isn't in season in the Midwest now, but when it is, $1 for what looks like 3-4 ears would be pretty pricey around here. Might be worth it for a taste of summer in dreary February though!
Thought I would pass this along - I went to a neighborhood 99 cents store and found some great veggies! I came home with broccoli, eggplant, onions, red potatoes, garlic, green and red lettuce, pears, tomatoes and bananas - totalling 8 bags that came to $25.81. All were fresh and tasted great. I have always looked for a bargain and realize that for some this would really help in this economic turmoil.
Do you have a bamboo steamer? It is the best way to cook corn on the cob, especially if it is day or two past its prime. I want to cry now when I see people boiling it.
