On Manager's Special 2.2.09
Broccoli for $0.84!
And More broccoli, just $1.00.
A bunch of clementines $1.24.
Final tally, only $3.08. That's freaking awesome!
I'm addicted to broccoli. And clementines make great snacks.

I've often wondered what your thoughts are on plastic/foam packaging for your fruits and veggies...your manager's specials always seem to be packed this way...
do you recycle?
Hey Ben-
Yes. I recycle. And, I've mentioned this before, but its an issue of practicality. Sure, the packaging isn't ideal. But the produce is very good and very cheap. So for me, it's about striking a balance.
Peace.

A few days ago I got 18 pounds of organic carrots from the cheapo rack for $7. Now both of my crisper bins are full to the top with carrots, although the supply has gone down somewhat since then.
We alsogot a couple of those packages of brocccoli. We had broccoli with onions, garlic, greenpeppers, and tomatoes for dinner last night. All tose carrots Mony mentioned- carrot salad dressing.
I'm sure you've mentioned this before, but where is all this produce from - what store?
For some reason, these photos make me sad. I think of the farmer who grew these beautiful vegetables, and the fact that nobody wanted them until they were old enough to be put on manager's special for cheap prices. But I feel happy that there are people out there like you who will "rescue" them. :)
