Inspiration: Major Phil Packer, Marathon Runner

British soldier Major Phil Packer suffered a catastrophic injury to his spine after a rocket on his base in Basra, Iraq last year, losing all feeling and motor control in his legs. Doctors said he’d never walk again, but that didn’t stop Major Phil from completing the London Marathon:

Phil walked two miles each day—the most his doctor would allow—he finished in 13 days and did at all for charity. There’s no quit in the Major. In February, he rowed the English Channel and next month he’ll climb a 3,000-foot vertical rock formation in California. Go Phil, go!

Jacob Goes from Doughy to Ripped!

No one likes be fat and miserable. It’s depressing. You feel like a lump. Being lean, mean and fit is so much better! Like David, he cut the pounds and now runs marathons and check out Jacob. He went from unpleasantly plump to ripped:

I am 5'10" tall and started out weighing 275 pounds around four years ago when I decided I wanted to change. I started to eat a standard “healthy” diet and lost about twenty pounds and became stuck. Then I made the decision to become a vegetarian, started reading Eat to Live, and began applying some of the principles. This got me down to about 200 pounds. This was when I decided to become a vegan and began applying myself to Eat to Live and hovered around a diet of 90% Eat to Live adherence. This dropped me to about 185 pounds. At this point, I became serious about going to the gym…continue reading.

David Slims Down, Now a Running Machine!

No one likes being overweight. Clothes don’t fit right, it hurts when you exercise and kills your self esteem, but switching to a vegetable-based diet can fix that! Take David, he started eating better, the extra pounds went bye-bye and now he’s running marathons! Here’s his story:

In just 90 short days, I was able to lose 30 lbs and a big portion of those pounds came off in the first 6 weeks like you mention in Eat to Live, although I must say I lost 21 lbs in 6 wks so I beat your prediction by 1 lb! It's almost a year later and I have maintained the weight loss and I continue to make smart decisions about what goes into my body.

I was never extremely overweight, but at 215 lbs (5ft 9in) I was very uncomfortable in my own skin. Many people get too complacent with their life and their unhealthy eating routines, until they eventually reach the tipping point...no pun intended. Everyone in this situation needs a wake up call, hopefully it's not a bad wake up call…continue reading.
