Want Some Strawberry Frozen Yogurt?
.jpg)
I know. No one here eats yogurt, but that stuff isn’t actually frozen yogurt. And its not sorbet, ice cream or gelato either. It’s chicken! No, I’m not joking. It’s the result of something called Advanced Meat Recovery, where the bones of chickens, turkeys, pigs and cows are stripped of any leftover meat.
This congealed vomit is used to make hot dogs, bologna, chicken nuggets, salami and other processed meats. Dr. Fuhrman has a BIG problem with processed meat. He says it’s a major source of saturated fat and toxins, which can lead to heart disease and cancer. Sorry for giving you dry heaves.

Hi Gerry
Just last night I watched that episode of the Simpsons where Homer goes to a motel and sorta eats/romances with a donair, which I think is basically a gigantic cocktail weenie made out of the same stuff. Yuck!
I looked at the link for Advanced Meat Recovery, and found that there are regulations restricting the amount of calcium (because that would mean scraping the bone I guess). So what you get is a high fat, low calcium yogurt.
I do think, though, that a small amount of real low fat yogurt is ok. It was part of the diet of some of the populations in John Robbins' book "Healthy at 100", which you have mentioned in this blog.
Cheers, Steve
Disgusting!
The title threw me off...I seriously thought that was frozen yogurt.
Yuk! You did give me dry heaves!
Yes, disgusting
I showed this to my kids. I don't think they'll ever eat a hotdog again in their lives! That image is totally disgusting ~ worth a million words. It should be put into every health textbook.
Hi Gerry...Thanks for giving me material for a health lesson for my kids this week!
Why is it going into cardboard??
